About Us
Philippa Bird has been the Managing Director since the inception of "What's on Sydney"
in January 2003. The site has been growing year on year ever since. In 2007 a decision
was made to re-develop the website, build a membership base for the organisations
that use the website to promote their events and re-establish the business under
a new business name "What's on Downunder".
Our mission is:
- To provide the most comprehensive personalised guide of leisure activities throughout
Sydney, for Australians and tourists and to support the organisations who manage
these activities.
- We recognise that many events that take place in Sydney have little or no advertising
budget and therefore find promoting their event almost impossible. We have provided
this website so that any size of organisation can promote their event.
- We also recognised that Sydneysiders and tourists were missing out on many events
simply because they did not have one comprehensive place to go and many events people
only heard about through word of mouth.
