Multi-award winning Russian vocalist Zulya Kamalova and her extraordinary band The Children of the Underground will showcase songs from their highly anticipated fourth album Tales of the Subliming at City Recital Hall Angel Place, Friday 16 April at 8pm.
Zulya Kamalova is the leading proponent of Tatar and Russian music in Australia, as well as one of the most versatile and accomplished vocalists on the world music scene today.
Zulya and the Children of the Underground’s last album, 3 Nights (released in Australia, April 2007) was awarded the prestigious ARIA award for best world music album in Australia and spent four months in the top 10 of the European World Music Charts.
New releases from Tales of Subliming will include Baba Yaga’s Dream, Rope-Makers’ Daughter, Ocean Lullaby, A Girl Named Free and He Fell So Deep. A selection of previous releases will also feature in this concert.
