Following his debuts with the New York Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl in 2010, piano sensation Alexander Gavrylyuk returns to City Recital Hall Angel Place for one spectacular recital on Friday 24 June at 7pm.
City Recital Hall Angel Place and Andrew McKinnon Presentations are thrilled to present Alexander Gavrylyuk. Ranked as one of the world’s leading pianists, Alexander is back by popular demand after numerous standing ovations at City Recital Hall Angel Place in 2010.
This internationally acclaimed pianist will perform a transfixing new program of works by some of the greatest composers including Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev.
Speaking about the program for this recital Alexander said the audience can “expect a bouquet of styles and colours from this program which features a combination of German, Polish and Russian composers’ works.
“Some of these pieces I played some years ago and I have rethought the way I see this music at this time in my life, so I felt it was the right time for such a program,” he said.
At 26 years of age, Alexander Gavrylyuk has already achieved so much. He has won a number of the most prestigious piano competitions including the Arthur Rubinstein Masters Piano Competition, Horowitz International Piano Competition, and Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, and has also played with some of the world’s leading orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and many others.
