THINK YOU KNOW YOUR FOOD? THE RIV WILL BE THE JUDGE OF THAT!
With a fun night of gastrotastic questions hosted by industry stalwart
and certified Food and Wine Tragic David Myers, the Riv invites you to
pit your wits against fellow foodies as part of a new Monday night food
trivia quiz. The opening round is on at the Riverview Hotel in Balmain,
AHA 'Gastronomic Hotel of the Year', next Monday 21st June from 7pm
(registration from 6.30pm), and every Monday after that.
With three rounds of questions, geared largely around food, wine and
travel, each team will have the chance to win drinks prizes for each
round, with the overall winning team every week being awarded dinner
vouchers to leading (hatted) Sydney restaurants. A few questions each
week will focus on that week's featured restaurant.
The evening will feature interactive questions with a 'taste and sip'
round where competitors will be encouraged to indulge their senses of
smell and taste in some flavoursome conundrums.
A $25 meal and glass of wine option will be offered to participants
which, as well being excellent value and deliciously tasty, may provide
additional clues to some of the answers.
Weekly winners are awarded 5 points, 2nd place teams get 3 points and
3rd placers will receive 2 points. Teams even get a point just for
turning up.
The team at the top of the leader board at the end of the 12 weeks will
raise aloft the prestigious crown of 'season champs' (the first winners
will be crowned Winter Champions) and will enjoy a Sunday Lunch
Degustation with Wine Matching for 10 people in the Private Dining Room
at The Riverview Hotel, 29 Birchgrove Road, Balmain.
