Memories of an Irish summer .....and dancing
It is 1936 and harvest time in County Donegal, Ireland. In a house just outside the village of Ballybeg live the five Mundy sisters, barely making ends meet. The two male members of the household are brother Jack, a missionary priest, repatriated from Africa after twenty five years, and Michael, the seven year old illegitimate son of Chris, the youngest sister. The events of that summer are narrated in recall by the adult , Michael, unfolding a tender, poignant and humorous study of their lives, layered with pagan and Catholic influence.
