Information

This year the AAADA Show is being held at the AJC Royal Randwick Racecourse, 8-12th September celebrating an important milestone, its 10th anniversary.

More than 40 of our members from all over Australia will bring together, under one roof, the equivalent of more than 40 members’ shops, with all items for sale. Exhibiting members are currently scouring Australia and abroad to present a show with the highest quality of items on offer in this country. View in one visit at the one venue in a matter of hours or, obtain a complimentary pass out and plan a return visit on another day. This world-class display is not to be missed. And remember, this is the ONLY official annual AAADA national show.

Every exhibitor is a member of our association and bound by our Code of Practice. Every item is vetted for accuracy of description.

The show has a 1950 dateline but still allows for inclusion of appropriately described later items due to their artistry, rarity or because they are unique - antiques of the future.

Feel virtuous and lessen your carbon footprint by buying vintage and antique – if you do not come by car we can arrange delivery of your purchases.
Remember – antiques are green!

The show opens with a gala preview on Wednesday evening, 8 September and continues daily until Sunday 12 September at 5 pm.

The Macquarie Collector’s Chest – a lecture by Elizabeth Ellis 2pm on Friday 10th September
Elizabeth Ellis is the Emeritus Curator at the Mitchell Library in Sydney, and the author of Rare and Curious: the Secret History of Governor Macquarie's Collector's Chest published by MUP
The Macquarie Collector’s Chest is one of the Mitchell Library's most rare pieces of early 19th century Australiana. Commissioned by Governor Macquarie in the early 1800s, the cabinets of curiosities display exotic natural history including layers of jewel-bright preserved butterflies, insects and birds, seaweed specimens and shells, as well as beautifully painted panels believed to be by some of Australia's best early colonial painters. It was found abandoned in a Scottish castle. Elizabeth first heard rumours of the chest's existence thirty years ago, when she began the search that led to its triumphant return to Sydney to be reunited for the first time in nearly 200 years with its partner The Dixson chest, which had been virtually stripped of its contents. You are invited to join Elizabeth Ellis to share her passion.
