Art Atrium exhibits Archibald & Wynne Prize finalist, Huang He's latest body of work.
Huang He describes his work of the urban landscape as a vibrant urban ensemble composed of grand boulevards, constructions and multi-coloured buildings. His paintings are an invitation to revisit the metropolitan harmony under the eye of an always changing sky. He is also exhibiting nudes and bronze sculptures.
Huang He was born in Guangzhou, China and graduated in Fine Art (Painting and Sculpture) from Guangzhou Fine Arts University. From 1982 to 1998, he was selected annually for solo exhibitions at the University of Guang Zhou as well as yearly exhibitions at the Fine Arts Museum in Canton from 1982 to 1987. Since migrating to Australia in 1990, Huang He has been selected as a finalist for the Doug Moran Portrait Prize (2007) and the Wynne Prize (2004) and the Archibald Prize (1997) at the Art Gallery of NSW. Huang He also exhibited at the Salon des Refuses in 2007. In 2008, Huang He participated in the Mao to Now exhibition at the Sydney Olympic Park.
The exhibition runs til 4 September.
