Hornbsy Shire Australia Celebrations include -

Free Sausage Sizzle in Hornsby Mall - 10 am - 2pm

To celebrate Australia Day, the Hornsby Lions club, Berowra Apex and Leos Club of Hornsby, on behalf of Hornsby Shire Council, will host a free sausage sizzle in Hornsby Mall, along with live entertainment. (A limited number of sausages and flags will be available.)

Koala Park free ticket giveaway

Hornsby Shire Council's annual free ticket giveaway to Koala Park is available again for 2011. Council will be offering residents the opportunity to register for four free tickets per household to enjoy on Australia Day 2011.

Registrations for tickets will open at 9am on Monday 10th January, To register, visit http://www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au.

Australia Day on Dangar Island

Take a short trip across the river and enjoy community art exhibits, live music in the park, historical tours of the island, childrens craft workshop, face painting and a flag ceremony. All day food and beverages available at both the cafe and the bowling club.

Half price ferry tickets for families and groups leaving from Brooklyn.

Hornsby Park Celebrations 10am until dusk

To celebrate Australia Day, the Country Women's Association will serve tea, scones and damper in their tea rooms, there will be a free jumping castle and a variety of free entertainment for the community to enjoy.

Visit Historic Netherby Homestead and Museums

The Friends of Fagan Park will open the heritage area including Netherby Homestead, working displays and hands-on activities. Tea, coffee and cake will be served. Entry to Fagan Park is $5 per vehicle.
