"So U really Think U can Dance huh?" First of all, welcome to an all new fund raising experience. Dance-A-Thon is a 12-hour non-stop dance marathon. Starting times are 10am-10pm. It is a drug and caffeine free event. Open to all ages from 14-99. Dance-A-Thon is a local charity event, raising money for several local charities. All proceeds raised (100%) will go towards this years local charity; The Fred Hollows Foundation". Each dancer will be asked to raise at least $50 for our chosen charity, plus the dancer that raises the most, will be rewarded $250.00 cash! The event will consist of 30 -50 dancers who will dancing for charity as well as themselves (Cash prize up to $1000 ) All dancers will be given 1- 10 minute break on the hour. All contestants will receive a registration number and colour. Breaks will be determined by group colours. Prizes are: 1st place $500 cash (for most energetic final dancer(s) plus free registration for Next years event 2nd Place $250 best costume 3rd place $250 cash for most money collected for charity Dancers can be sponsored several ways: A flat fee for entering and/or finishing the Marathon A certain amount for every hour or 3 hours or 6 hours, the person dances Match what ever the dancer agrees to pay themselves To wear the company Logo (a flat rate or by the hour) A one off donation to the charity Friends and Family are welcome to come along and watch and show support for the sponsored dancer(s) All contestants will need to sign a waiver insurance form before being allowed into contest. St Johns Ambulance paramedics will be on hand for the duration of contest. Just in case of an emergency.
