Last weekend, Kill City Creeps rocked audiences when they opened for The Damned in Melbourne and Sydney. Hungry for more than the 30 minute set could offer, punters flooded the merch desk after the shows to buy copies of The Creep’s 5 tracker CD. Having won over a whole new legion of fans, including The Damned themselves, it’s fair to say that Kill City Creeps are hitting this year front on. And that, as they say, is just the beginning….
On February 17, The Creeps will take the stage at Spectrum, with support from two of Sydney’s best burgeoning acts, Mother and Son and The Ghosts.
It’s a killer start to the year for the band who made their way onto triple j and community radio around the country at the end of 2011 with ‘I Got A Letter’ - the first song from the band’s 5 tracker release, now available both physically and digitally from the Kill City Creeps’ Bandcamp page, here: http://killcitycreeps.bandcamp.com/
What The Kill City Creeps have given birth to is entirely apart from anything that has come before…theirs’ is a sound, a look, a language, and an attitude to and of itself. While somewhat reminiscent of late 60s psychedelia and 70s glam, the sound has taken on an unhinged, scuzzy demeanor that is very much parentless.
