Information
Ship out to Goat Island and get a taste for life in the 1830s as either a convict or a soldier. Convicts will learn about life in the Goat Island quarry, try out the leg-irons and visit the stockade convict-box. Soldiers will enlist in the British army, learn about life as a red-coat, conduct musket drill and inspect the sentry wall. Everyone will be introduced to the feared cat-o-nine tails. WARNING: Participants will hear ghastly and gruesome tales of punishment, deaths and escapes, all with a backdrop of the best views of Sydney Harbour.
Groups of 25+ can pick either a convict or soldiers' life. Group of up to 60 will be split into 2 groups.
Duration: 2 hours 45 minutes. Not recommend for children under 10 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Activity grading: Medium (Some steps or steep areas - suitable for people who walk occasionally).

Group bookings are available for a minimum of 25 people and a maximum of 60 people. Tours can be conducted on any weekday between 10am and 3pm. Toilets are located on Goat Island. Cold drinks are available for purchase. Ticket prices include return ferry transfers from Circular Quay. All tours meet at Cadmans Cottage, 110 George Street, The Rocks, NSW 2000. Please bring hat, sunscreen and water Payment and Cancellation A 25% deposit of the total tour amount is required at time of booking. Balance of all fees is required two weeks prior to the tour date. Tours are non refundable. Transfers to another date can be made, if requested at least 48 hours prior to the date of tour.
