Madame Tussauds Sydney’s all-new Fashion Week experience

Fashion icon, model and business mogul Megan Gale unveiled her world first wax figure in Madame Tussauds Sydney’s all-new Fashion Week experience on 17 May.

Surrounded by the famous wax faces of Australia’s biggest stars, Megan came face-to-face with her wax figure in the Darling Harbour attraction’s all-new Fashion Week experience, which allows guests to immerse themselves in the glitz and glamour of the fashion world.

In Megan’s home town of Melbourne last year, the busy mum of one (soon-to-be-two!) underwent a four-hour Madame Tussauds sitting, where a team of expert artists and sculptors took more than 250 measurements to perfectly recreate an exact replica of Megan.

The figure was then created in the global brand’s Magic Making headquarters, taking the team more than four-months to create the world first wax figure of the statuesque brunette.

A unique point of difference with Megan’s figure is her eye colour. The eye colour of a celebrity is usually matched to the broad spectrum of colours that Madame Tussauds has available, however Megan’s eye colour is so unique they had to create a brand- new colour blend to ensure the colour was a perfect match.

Commenting on the Madame Tussauds experience, Megan Gale said: “It was such a wonderful surprise when I found out that Madame Tussauds wanted to immortalise me in wax. It is such a rare and special opportunity and I was incredibly honoured to be asked... especially when I think of all the amazing people who have gone before me working with Madame Tussauds. I’m so thrilled to have had this experience”.

When coming face-to-face with her wax figure for the first time, Megan commented: “It truly is such an unforgettable moment seeing yourself in wax for the first time. This will truly stand out as a career highlight. The Madame Tussauds team has done a phenomenal job!”.

Positioned at the end of a runway – where Megan’s career began – her wax figure will don a floor-length Alex Perry creation, which was made specifically for her figure.

To add to the authenticity of her figure, Megan kindly donated her favourite pair of shoes, five-inch black Christian Louboutins.

From today, guests to Madame Tussauds Sydney will be able to experience the world of fashion like never before, thanks to the all-new interactives including a digital make-over and a magazine cover photoshoot.

By partnering with leading fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands – Cosmopolitan, Napoleon Perdis, Wella Professionals and Myer – budding fashionistas will be able to undergo a digital make-over thanks to Napoleon Perdis, try on the latest season trends thanks to Myer and then strut the catwalk and strike a pose next to Megan. Following their catwalk debut, guests will be able to pose for their own Cosmopolitan covershoot and then share their experience online, using the hashtag, #TussaudsFashion.

Madame Tussauds Sydney’s all-new Fashion Week experience is now open to the public – strut down and have your catwalk moment!
