The Butler Potts Point Review

Saturday Night at The Butler in Potts Point and the place was buzzing. If you have never been to The Butler you have to go. It is decked out to look like a modern, cosy garden terrace, overlooking the City with gentle jazz playing in the background. In fact the sound was so good, it seemed like the band were playing on another terrace just below.

We had the Bulter's Banquet, a cocktail and wine! I apolgise in advance that I don't have many photo's of all the dishes or even the whole dish, as I was too busy enjoying them!

We were a little early so we started with a cheeky cocktail at the bar. I had a Please and Thank You - Tanqueray Gin, Fiorente Elderflower, grapefruit, lychee, lemon, vanilla, along with my sister and my husband had a Whiskey Sour. The Whskey Sour had the largest ice cube I had every seen! Anyway, I think you can see by the photo they went down a treat!

Here is the Menu we had -

Kingfish aguachile, coconut, watermelon, baby cukes, avocado, Ora King Salmon roe GF/DF

Pan seared sea scallops, garbanzo bean cream, habanero, salmon roe salsa, chickpea cress GF
Pipian chicken taco, avocado, lime pepitas GF/DF
Empanada, slow braised pork in citrus, achiote, habanero

Actually, this is Beef and habanero as it was a GF option. It was spicy but so tasty!

Lamb Barbacoa – 1200g shoulder, slow cooked in banana leaf with cucumber, olives, salsa verde, chile pasilla, Greek yoghurt GF

You can see how well cooked this lamb is, it was so tender, like butter.

Grilled eggplant, red chile miso, lime togarashi, pomegranate VEGAN/GF
Ensalada fresca, cabbage, totopos, orange, chipotle morita, sunflower seeds, herbs VEGAN/GF

This is not the best photo but the flavours were amazing.

As you can see there are many dishes which cater for different dietary requirements and they will adapt dishes if they can to suit.

The pictures I have don't really give you the full picture but there was not one dish we didn't like. My favourite one was the Chicken taco. I could eat that, all day everyday, hence why there is no photo as I had eaten it before I got to photograph it!

Yes, we had dessert and the stand out winner was the chocolate mousse. My sister commented that it was the best dessert she has every had in Sydney. We washed it down with a glass of De Bortoli Noble One!

The service from all the staff was friendly and the wait between dishes was perfect.

I can't fault any of it, we will be back.
