Ali Mcgregor has arrived in Sydney and tonight rocked the Hayes Theatre. The audience was enrapture with her and her performance.
Ali brought the house down with her cross fertilisation of jazz and pop music. Most of the songs were taken from some of Ali's favourites as a teenager in the 1980's. Songs such as Madona's La Isla Bonita and unlikely choices like Prodigy. Her voice range is amazing. Ali trained as an Opera singer and sang with Opera Australia, so some of the songs you could hear her clasical training. She also loves jazz which featured heavily as did a bit of hip hop.
She was backed by three very talented musicians on keys, double bass and drums.
Ali will be at the Hayes until Sunday 27 April so if you missed her this time be sure to catch her next time round.
