The Water Babies; A Folk Opera is a reworking by the Sydney composer/jazz musician of the Victorian children's story by Charles Kingsley which has appealed to children and adults alike for over 150 years. Those familiar with it will recognise all their favourite characters; those new to it will be startled to find how resonant it is in our own time, especially in its environmental and social significance.
