Blue Botanical Prints: A Mother's Day Nature Art Workshop at Fernhill Estate

Information

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a creative morning in nature at beautiful Fernhill Estate.

Join artist and educator Gemma McKenzie-Booth to learn cyanotype printing, an early photographic technique that uses sunlight to create striking blue-and-white botanical prints.

The workshop begins with a short introduction to Fernhill Estate, followed by a gentle guided walk through the gardens to collect leaves, flowers and other natural materials. You will then create your own cyanotype prints using sunlight to reveal delicate shapes and textures in beautiful shades of blue.

Take home a collection of handmade prints inspired by your time in nature.

Morning tea is included.

Suitable for adults of all skill levels — no prior experience required.

Please note: The workshop begins with a 1.5 km walk with some uphill sections. If you have access requirements, please let us know. Parklands staff can arrange drop-off at the top of the hill if needed.
