Desert Sands

The sandhills are alive. Shifting, breathing, holding secrets - they are among the most vital and storied landscapes in Australia, and for the artists in this exhibition, they are home.

Desert Sands brings together a remarkable group of artists whose works reveal the sandhills and dunes of their Country in all their complexity. Beneath the surface lie freshwater sources and food; within the contours of every dune are Ancestral stories immortalised in the Dreaming. To paint the sandhills is to map a world that sustains life, holds memory, and connects the living to those who came before.
