Celebrate the extraordinary work of acclaimed artist Helen McCarthy Tyalmuty in this major solo exhibition exploring family, culture and connection to Country.
Presented following her recent Alice Art Prize win, Grounded + Growing in Country features important recent works and award-connected paintings created across a remarkable career spanning more than 30 years.
Helen’s paintings transport audiences to her homeland of Bulgul, carrying stories of memory, identity and cultural continuity through a bold and deeply personal visual language.
Visitors during opening weekend can also meet Helen and emerging artist Heath Minjin Wilson as part of a special in-gallery artist residency.
