The first live performance inside the Entertainment Hall in over four decades
The restored Entertainment Hall at White Bay Power Station comes alive once again as Motown & Beyond delivers an afternoon of classic soul, funk and R&B. This landmark event marks the first public performance inside the hall since it closed in 1983, celebrating both its remarkable rejuvenation and its return as a place for community and live music.
Presented by a talented Inner West Sydney ensemble, expect timeless hits, irresistible grooves and an unforgettable atmosphere inside one of Sydney's most fascinating heritage venues.
The Performance
Motown & Beyond celebrates the music that changed popular culture, bringing together the greatest soul, funk and R&B classics in one energetic live show.
Expect songs made famous by legendary artists including Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Otis Redding, James Brown, Tina Turner, The Temptations and Amy Winehouse, performed by an outstanding live band complete with powerful vocals, punchy brass and irresistible dance grooves.

About White Bay Entertainment Hall
Originally designed as a recreational space for workers at White Bay Power Station, the Entertainment Hall was once the social heart of the site, hosting dances, celebrations and community gatherings before closing to the public in 1983.
Following an extensive rejuvenation, the hall now welcomes visitors once again. This special performance not only celebrates the return of live music, but also reconnects the venue with the purpose for which it was originally built—bringing people together through unforgettable shared experiences.
