Information
Surf + Sound is a new three-weekend festival taking over Manly from Friday 16 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. Centred on Manly Wharf, it combines live music, a free public art trail, food and dining, and community programming, closing with the Surf + Sound Boardrider Battle at Manly Beach.
First-announced acts include Skegss, The Whitlams, Skunkhour, The Beautiful Girls, GANGgajang, Winston Surfshirt and Mudhoney. Artist Jeremyville curates the wharf's public art trail, while the closing weekend (31 Oct–1 Nov) brings a surfing competition to Manly Beach led by world champion Joel Parkinson, with a Legends Heat featuring Mark Occhilupo and Layne Beachley.
Founded by five friends, James "Jamo" Willis, Adam Flaskas, Joel Parkinson, Paul Henry and Lachie Given — the festival grew from a surf competition idea into a wider celebration of Manly's music, surf, art and food culture.
