Information
This World Food Month, Little Lagos, 6Head and many more restaurants have partnered with The Hunger Project Australia to make sure Every Bite Counts.
With 1 in 12 people globally going hungry every day – and women and children the most affected – The Hunger Project's latest initiative demonstrates how collective action from Australia's food industry can drive meaningful change in communities across Africa, India, Bangladesh and Mexico.
Participating restaurants will dedicate a portion of their October revenue to support The Hunger Project's community-led programs focused on nutrition training, climate-resilient farming, and building local food security. The Hunger Project addresses the complex drivers of hunger, from gender inequality and conflict to climate change.
Recent data from The Hunger Project shows their nutrition programs are delivering tangible results. Over 31,000 community partners were trained in nutrition practices last year, with 9 out of 10 participants increasing the number of healthy meals consumed by their families, and recording an overall 20% reduction in the communities in which they work.
