Information
Sydney Zoo’s Creatures of the Ice Age is now on from 26 June – 16 August 2026, transforming Western Sydney into a frozen prehistoric world filled with life-size animatronic Ice Age giants.
Families can explore a themed walk-through featuring 14 large-scale animatronic and static creatures, including Woolly Mammoths, Sabre-Tooth Tigers, Dire Wolves and more, in a highly visual, self-guided experience designed for all ages.
A group of children are admiring a large, snowy mammoth statue under a clear blue sky.
Beyond the trail, visitors can enjoy a range of interactive winter activities designed for families, including:
- A new immersive Snow Dome experience – a walk-through soft-play winter space for younger visitors
- A new Augmented Reality Colouring Experience, where children bring their drawings to life via iPad stations
- Snow machine moments along the pathway to enhance the winter atmosphere
Available across the full event period on weekends, with additional daily programming during NSW school holidays (6–17 July), the experience offers flexible access for families planning winter activities.
Best of all, Creatures of the Ice Age is FREE with zoo entry, making it an accessible and high-value school holiday outing.
