Open Day at Linnwood - Western Sydney's Best Kept Secret!

Information

Come along and see 'Linnwood', a State Heritage Listed house at Guildford.
Built in 1891 by George McCredie as his 'country' estate and sitting on 5.1ha of land in Guildford. Inside the house you will see some beautiful timberwork and colourful stained and leadlight glass over every door in the main part of the house. Learn Linnwood's colourful history - from a gentleman's country residence to being NSW's first and only Boys Truant School and then a Girl's Domestic Science School. Times changed and it became the home for the local historical society, and offices for a government department. Finally left in disrepair and then saved by the local community when there was a threat to sell and subdivide. What a story!!
On the day you will see some craft stalls inside the house, a book stall and a bric'a'brac for sale plus different displays in each room. Outside will see some more stalls including plants and timberwork by the Western Sydney Woodturners and West Cumberland Mens Shed. There will be a bbq in the grounds and Devonshire Teas available in the house.
On the front lawn there will be some vintage cars on display as well.
Don't miss it!
