As daylight fades across Sydney's north-west, Bella Vista Farm will soon take on an entirely different character. The familiar paddocks, heritage buildings and quiet pathways will gradually disappear beneath a carefully crafted landscape of light and sound, where colour blooms after dark and the rhythms of history meet contemporary creativity.
This spring, Moon Garden will transform Bella Vista Farm into an immersive evening experience as Echoes – Moon Garden returns for its second year. Running from Friday 18 September to Sunday 11 October 2026, the award-winning event will once again become one of the centrepieces of The Hills Shire's Orange Blossom Festival, inviting visitors to wander through a hidden world revealed only after sunset.
Rather than rushing from one installation to the next, the experience will encourage slow exploration. Each illuminated pathway will reveal something unexpected, with interactive displays, glowing gardens and carefully composed soundscapes designed to transform one of Western Sydney's most significant historic sites into something altogether dreamlike.
Moon Garden Will Transform Bella Vista Farm After Dark
Bella Vista Farm has long stood as a reminder of the district's agricultural past. Established in the nineteenth century, the heritage property offers expansive lawns, sandstone buildings and mature trees that speak quietly of generations gone by.
For several weeks this spring, however, the landscape will become something entirely different.
As darkness settles over the grounds, visitors will enter a secret garden where light becomes part of the landscape itself. Trees will glow from within, pathways will shimmer beneath visitors' feet, and artistic installations will appear among the gardens without overwhelming the character of the historic farm.
The result will not simply be an outdoor light display, but an evolving journey through space and atmosphere. Every turn is expected to reveal a fresh perspective, encouraging visitors to pause, linger and experience the changing mood of the evening.
Created in partnership with Dural-based specialists Laservision, the event will blend artistic lighting, immersive audio and interactive technology while allowing the historic setting to remain the central character.
Walking Through The Moon Garden Experience
Unlike traditional festivals that concentrate activity in one location, Echoes will unfold gradually.
Guests will follow illuminated trails that weave naturally through the property, discovering blooming light sculptures, interactive installations and carefully choreographed visual moments along the way. Rather than competing for attention, each section will build upon the last, creating a relaxed rhythm that rewards curiosity.
Photography enthusiasts will find countless opportunities to capture reflections, glowing arches and vibrant colours framed by Bella Vista Farm's historic architecture. Families will enjoy the playful interactive elements, while couples and groups of friends may simply appreciate the peaceful atmosphere that develops once the sun has disappeared.
Entry sessions will begin every 15 minutes from 6.00pm, helping to spread visitors throughout the evening and allowing everyone time to enjoy the experience at a comfortable pace.
For those seeking a quieter visit, dedicated low-sensory sessions will also be offered, featuring smaller crowds and reduced lighting intensity to create a more relaxed environment.
Food And Flavours Beneath The Lights
No evening festival feels complete without something warm to eat, and Echoes – Moon Garden will pair its illuminated landscapes with a diverse collection of food trucks throughout the event.
Visitors will be able to enjoy burgers, loaded fries and fried chicken from Toby's Milkbar, while Gelato Messina will return with its famous gelato alongside a limited-edition Orange Blossom Festival mystery flavour created especially for the season.
Mediterranean street food from Teta's Pizza, woodfired creations from YouPizza, fresh churros and coffee from Bar Coco, and colourful glow-in-the-dark fairy floss, Dutch pancakes and sweet treats from Glow Fairy Floss will complete the festival atmosphere.
The combination of food, light and music will encourage many guests to extend their evening, lingering between installations rather than simply walking through them.

By combining contemporary light installations with one of Western Sydney's most treasured heritage sites, the event offers a different way to experience a familiar landscape. Rather than viewing the farm solely as a place of history, visitors will encounter it through changing colours, carefully composed soundscapes and interactive artworks that transform the surroundings without losing sight of their heritage.

As spring evenings grow warmer and the moon rises above the historic homestead, Bella Vista Farm will once again become a place where quiet paddocks give way to glowing gardens, where familiar pathways become something unexpected, and where visitors are invited to slow down and see the landscape from an entirely new perspective.
