Social isolation may be forcing everyone to stay at home but that hasn’t stopped a band of performers from keeping the cabaret scene alive and kicking with a night of high-class red-light entertainment in online form. Brought exclusively from the team behind Red Light Confidential, which usually has a cozy venue in Surry Hills, this is an initiative to enable performers to continue doing what they love in a format that is accessible to all via Instagram TV.
The low-light club feel is swapped for the intimacy of a living room / bedroom / balcony as each performer improvises to create a show in their home environment. The first round of the ‘Isolation Series’ is already up and running on Red Light Confidential’s Instagram channel and a second wave is scheduled for 8pm Thursday 9 April.
Audience members will be treated to a variety of extremely entertaining acts ranging from burlesque, stand up comedy, pole dancing, music, singing and dancing galore, and can show their support of their favourite artists via a donation link. Virtual cheering in the form of likes, comments and shares are also welcome.
