Expressions of interest will remain open until 5.00pm on Monday, 7 September 2026, after which shortlisted composers will be invited to develop detailed creative proposals. The successful composer is expected to be announced by 29 January 2027, allowing sufficient time for the soundtrack to be composed, recorded and integrated into the fireworks design.
The City of Sydney has allocated a maximum project budget of $65,000 (excluding GST), covering every aspect of producing the final soundtrack, including musicians, collaborators, recording expenses and licensing requirements.
