The JOY BAR: Sydney’s Newest Wine Bar on the Water

First class views of Sydney Harbour, decadent chocolates and lashings of premium wine. Sydney’s latest cruise offering, the hop on-and-off wine bar The Joy Bar by Fantasea Cruising, has recently launched, much to the delight of those who are after a more intimate, casual, stylish and sophisticated way to sail the pristine waters of Sydney Harbour, while taking in the numerous sights under the beautiful twilight of daylight saving.

Boarding at the bustling, hip and happening Sydney Wharf Bar at Darling Harbour, there are two daily departures: the ‘pre-dinner cruise’ from 6-730, followed by the 730-9pm cruise. We chose the 6pm cruise, to soak up the sunset views.

No more feeling like you’re stuck on a boat for hours, with too many people and not enough room, loudspeakers blasting and awkward entrances. Rather, we were surrounded by a soft, plush, intimate lounge replete with premium wine, chocolates, and even marble criss-cross games as we made our way to the top deck, wine in hand, to devour the sights; the soft sounds of jazz music playing in the background.

A photographer’s paradise we set sail along the Barangaroo shore, The Rocks, and Luna Park, while cruising under the Harbour Bridge, past the Sydney Opera House, the Botanical Gardens, Farmers Cove, Watsons Bay and Point Piper. We even discovered new places like Fort Denison, all against the beautiful backdrop of the romance of Sydney Harbour.

Starting at $35.00, this is an exceptionally stylish, yet casual, easy and accessible way to see Sydney. Go with friends, a loved one or even on your own after work for a big relax. As you disembark, enjoy one of the numerous bars and restaurants, which line the wharfs of Darling Harbour and Barangaroo.

A must-do.
