Treetops Adventure Brings The Magic Faraway Tree To Life In The Forest Canopy

Treetops Adventure invites families to explore a Magic Faraway Tree-themed experience across NSW and Victoria parks from 16 March to 26 April 2026.

The forest is quiet in the early morning. Sunlight filters through the canopy in pale bands, and the scent of eucalyptus drifts through the air. Somewhere above the forest floor, a rope creaks gently between two wooden platforms, suspended high among the branches.

Soon enough, the stillness will give way to laughter and the steady rhythm of climbers crossing rope bridges and ziplining between trees. For a brief moment each autumn, the familiar world of bushland adventure will carry an added sense of wonder.

This season, Treetops Adventure invites visitors to step into a landscape shaped by imagination, as its forest courses take inspiration from the world of The Magic Faraway Tree. The limited-time experience arrives across several parks in New South Wales and Victoria, coinciding with the cinematic release of the beloved children’s story.

The idea is simple: bring the feeling of storybook adventure into the forest canopy itself.

Treetops Adventure

Treetops Adventure Meets The Magic Faraway Tree

Few children’s stories have travelled through generations quite like The Magic Faraway Tree.

Written by Enid Blyton, the series follows a group of children who discover a towering enchanted tree whose branches lead to strange and ever-changing lands. Each climb reveals new characters, new landscapes and unexpected discoveries.

Now, that imaginative spirit arrives in the forests of Australia through a partnership with Treetops Adventure. From 16 March to 26 April 2026, select parks will weave subtle elements of the story into their existing rope courses.

Visitors will notice small touches upon arrival: themed signage at check-in, soft lighting details, and playful references to the film adaptation opening in cinemas later in March.

The transformation is gentle rather than theatrical. The real magic remains the forest itself.

A Treetops Adventure Among The Branches

Across Australia, Treetops Adventure has built its reputation on aerial obstacle courses set within natural bushland.

Climbers move through the trees via wooden platforms, rope bridges and suspended walkways. Some obstacles sway lightly underfoot; others require a careful balance across narrow beams or cargo nets.

Eventually, each course leads to the moment most visitors anticipate – the zipline.

A brief rush of air follows as the forest floor slips away beneath the rider, the cables stretching between tall trunks before landing gently at the next platform.

These experiences are designed for a wide range of visitors. Junior courses sit lower in the canopy, allowing younger climbers to explore safely, while more advanced routes challenge experienced adventurers with longer crossings and greater heights.

During the Faraway Tree-themed season, each course takes on a playful new identity. Routes are named after characters from the story: Silky’s Course, Saucepan Man’s Course, Dame Washalot’s Course and Mr Watzisname’s Course.

Treetops Adventure Locations Hosting The Experience

The themed takeover will unfold across three parks.

In New South Wales, visitors can climb through the canopy at Treetops Adventure Central Coast and Treetops Adventure The Hills.

Further south in Victoria, the forest setting of Treetops Adventure Belgrave will also take part in the experience.

Each location sits within established bushland environments where tall gums and native forest provide a natural framework for the aerial courses. The effect is immersive without needing elaborate set design – the trees themselves carry the atmosphere.

Two special one-day activations will add an extra sense of celebration.

On 28 March, Belgrave will host a family day featuring face painting, a bubble machine and additional decorations. A similar event will follow at the Central Coast park on 4 April.

These small festivities are designed to complement the adventure rather than overwhelm it.

A Cinema Connection For Treetops Adventure Visitors

The seasonal takeover arrives alongside the film adaptation of The Magic Faraway Tree, opening in Australian cinemas on 26 March 2026.

The production features a cast including Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy and Nicola Coughlan, bringing Blyton’s imaginative world to a new generation.

To celebrate the release, Treetops Adventure will also host a social media competition from 20 March to 10 April. Visitors who share photos from their climb and tag the park online will enter a draw to win cinema tickets to see the film.

The prize includes classic cinema treats – popcorn, drinks and sweets – turning the competition into a full family movie night.

In many ways, the collaboration reflects how stories evolve across generations. A book once read aloud at bedtime now extends into film screens and outdoor adventure.

Small Moments Of Magic At Treetops Adventure

Back at ground level, the parks will introduce another playful element during the event.

Cafés across the participating locations will serve a themed snack offering inspired by the imaginative lands of the story. The “Land of Goodies Snack Pack” includes a colour-changing slushie tumbler, fairy floss and a Byron Bay cookie – simple treats designed to carry the theme beyond the climbing platforms.

Children clutch the bright cups while watching others zipline overhead. Parents sit briefly in the shade before another climb begins.

It is these small moments – waiting beneath the trees, watching a climber cross a rope bridge above – that shape the day as much as the adventure itself.

Treetops Adventure

Where Imagination Meets The Forest

By late afternoon the forest light softens again, much as it did in the morning.

The ropes hang quietly once more between the platforms, and the last climbers descend the ladders back to the ground. Leaves stir lightly in the breeze.

For many visitors, the experience of Treetops Adventure will remain simply what it has always been: an exploration of the forest canopy.

Yet during this brief autumn window, there is also the quiet suggestion of another world – one where each rope bridge might lead somewhere unexpected.

In the stories of The Magic Faraway Tree, every climb reveals a different land waiting at the top.

Among the branches of the forest, that idea feels surprisingly close to reality.
