Cocktail Making Classes

Manly isn’t just about beaches servicing Aussie starved international tourists in Summer, but is renowned as a go-to Cosmopolitan destination, one ferry ride away from the city.

Testament to this is Whitewater restaurant, with its impressive, modern, white, sophisticated interiors designed to feel as though you’re right on the beach with its stunning, romantic views.

Not only is it a one-stop shop for private and corporate functions, casual drinks, lunches, family outings and romantic dinners devouring contemporary fresh Australian food, but of utmost importance it has pioneered Sydney’s cocktail making trend for fun nights out.

Without a cocktail making bone in my body I joined 20 other people in the exquisite private function room adorned with flowers draping from the ceilings, the latest mixology ingredients and the very debonair mixologist and cocktail connoisseur, Ronan, who was to take us from novice to professional via the famous Whitewater Martini Sour.

Once we found our places, Ronan at the helm, it was ready…steady…mix! Shots of Amaretto, Vodka, Pineapple juice, lime juice and sugar syrup splashed around in attempted style, as we shook, poured and garnished our way through to our final creation, a journey of endless laughs and bonding with other strangers along the way. To add to our garnish, while some cocktails tanked, others rose to the challenge, matching those of the best bar tender in Sydney.

An absolute highlight, the cocktail mixology classes are a must-experience for any event: from hen’s nights to those simply wanting an edge to an evening out, this is an incredibly fun, fabulous, unique offering.
