The Story Behind Galston500
The Galston500 was founded by Allie Thackray, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013.
After Allie and her husband Evan were married at the Galston Valley Railway in 2017, they wanted to combine their love of miniature railways with a cause that was deeply personal to them.
What began as a simple idea has grown into one of Australia's most unique railway charity events, bringing together train enthusiasts, families and the local community to support life-changing medical research.
With your support, we'll make 2026 our biggest year yet.
Supporting Life-Changing Research
Funds raised from the 2026 Galston500 will once again be donated directly to researchers at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research, helping advance research into the causes of Multiple Sclerosis, better treatments, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
The Institute has spent more than 30 years transforming groundbreaking medical discoveries into treatments that improve and save lives for Australians and people around the world.
