St Catherines School, Sydney presents its 170th Biannual Magnolia Fair – A community celebration of fun, food and springtime spirit

Australia’s oldest independent Anglican girls’ day and boarding school, St Catherines School Sydney presents the 170th Magnolia Fair on Saturday 5th of September 2026. Running from 10am – 4pm this family friendly community event is a free to attend, biannual event that is named after the school’s emblem featuring the Magnolia tree at the heart of the school. The day is packed with classic fete favourites including rides, food and market stalls, student music and performances and a chance to relax with a glass of champagne or some tea and scones. This event promises to be a wonderful day out with something offered to delight all ages.

“I am very excited about the upcoming Magnolia Fair commemorating 170 years of St Catherine’s. It is one of our most cherished events – a day when families, students and our local community come together to celebrate and support our beautiful school”, says school headmistress, Ms Deb Magill.

To celebrate the 170 years of St Catherine’s, 170 Blooms - a commemorative initiative will run from 10am - 2pm at the Magnolia Fair on the main stage. St Catherines students will craft a paper flower to attach to the live installation which builds to form a backdrop over time. A brilliant photo opportunity, the 170 Bloom formality will run from 2-2.30pm on the day with a toast and cake cutting in front of this incredible hand-crafted bloom backdrop.

With Father’s Day slated for the following day (6th of September 2026), the fair is the perfect opportunity to enjoy some time with Dad, shout him a BBQ lunch or buy him a present at one of the many market stalls on offer. Make memories with Dad or Grandpa and have his caricature drawn for Father’s Day at this year’s St Catherines Magnolia Fair.

Event Highlights will include:

-Kids disco, face painting, rides, hoops, petting zoo and adopt a bear stall
-Live music, stage performances and local arts from the students
-Food including BBQ, Mexican bowls, sweet and sour treats of all kinds
-Market stalls featuring handmade crafts, gifts and St Caths commemorative items

-Entry: free, all welcome. Unlimited ride wristbands available for purchase.
