MiraClair Wealth Art Prize Will Open The Door To A Creative Residency In Provence

Discover the MiraClair Wealth Art Prize, launching 1 September 2026, offering one international multidisciplinary creative a fully funded residency in Provence.

There are places where creativity seems to gather naturally. Sometimes it is the quality of the light. Sometimes it is the rhythm of everyday life, or the conversations that unfold around a shared table. In southern France, Provence has long been one of those places, drawing painters, writers, photographers and makers who arrive searching for space – both physical and creative – to see their work differently.

In 2026, that enduring relationship between place and artistic practice will inspire the launch of the MiraClair Wealth Art Prize, an initiative that will offer one international multidisciplinary creative the opportunity to spend two fully funded weeks immersed in the landscape of Provence during the spring of 2027.

Presented through a partnership between MiraClair Wealth and NG Art Creative Residency, the prize will represent more than financial support. It will invite an artist to step away from everyday routines and into an environment where time slows, ideas evolve naturally and cultural exchange becomes part of the creative process.

Applications for the inaugural MiraClair Wealth Art Prize will open on 1 September 2026, with the successful recipient travelling to the NG Art Creative Residency in March or April 2027.

MiraClair Wealth Art Prize Supports Creative Exchange

Creative residencies occupy a unique place in the arts. Unlike exhibitions or competitions that focus on finished works, they often celebrate the quieter stages of artistic practice – research, experimentation and reflection.

The MiraClair Wealth Art Prize has been established with this philosophy in mind. Open to international multidisciplinary creatives, the award reflects a shared commitment by MiraClair Wealth and NG Art Creative Residency to encourage artistic development through meaningful cultural exchange.

As a not-for-profit organisation, NG Art Creative Residency has built its reputation around creating opportunities for artists from diverse disciplines to live and work together while drawing inspiration from their surroundings. MiraClair Wealth, an independent wealth management and cross-border financial planning company, brings a complementary belief in investing in people and supporting initiatives that enrich communities through creativity and culture.

Together, the partnership recognises that artistic growth often begins not with deadlines or expectations, but with time, curiosity and the freedom to explore.

MiraClair Wealth Art Prize Will Take Artists To Provence

The destination itself forms an essential part of the MiraClair Wealth Art Prize.

The successful recipient will spend two weeks at the beautifully restored 17th-century Moulin de Gréoux, home to the NG Art Creative Residency in the Provençal village of Maussane-les-Alpilles.

Scheduled for March or April 2027, the residency will coincide with one of Provence's most captivating seasons. Wildflowers and red poppies will colour the surrounding countryside, local markets will celebrate the arrival of spring produce, and nearby destinations including Arles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Les Baux-de-Provence will provide endless opportunities for observation and exploration.

For generations, these landscapes have inspired artists not simply because of their beauty, but because they encourage careful attention. The changing light across limestone hills, ancient olive groves and quiet village streets invites a slower pace – one that naturally complements creative work.

Life Beyond The Studio

Although dedicated studio time remains central to the residency, daily life at Moulin de Gréoux extends beyond artistic practice.

Recipients of the MiraClair Wealth Art Prize will have access to professional studio facilities around the clock, allowing each creative to work according to their own rhythm. There is no prescribed schedule or expectation regarding how time should be spent, recognising that every artistic process unfolds differently.

Equally important are the shared experiences that develop outside the studio. Farm-to-table dinners inspired by Provençal cuisine will bring residents together to exchange ideas, discuss their work and build lasting international connections.

Moments of rest will become part of the experience as well. A light-filled indoor-outdoor swimming pool overlooking the gardens offers space for quiet reflection, while a shared residency vehicle provides opportunities to explore nearby villages, markets and landscapes that have inspired generations of artists.

These everyday experiences often become as influential as the hours spent creating.

MiraClair Wealth Art Prize Encourages Individual Practice

One of the defining qualities of the MiraClair Wealth Art Prize is its openness.

Rather than prescribing outcomes, the residency recognises that inspiration arrives differently for every artist. Some may spend long days working within the studio. Others may find creative direction while walking through olive groves, visiting museums, sketching village life or simply observing the changing seasons.

This flexibility reflects a broader understanding of artistic practice. Creativity is rarely linear, and meaningful work often develops through conversation, research and quiet contemplation as much as concentrated production.

By removing many of the practical pressures that accompany daily life, the residency creates space for artists to reconnect with their own process.

For multidisciplinary creatives working across visual arts, writing, photography, design or other creative fields, that uninterrupted period of focus may become one of the prize's greatest rewards.
