Public Education Day – Learn from the Best

We start this celebration on Saturday at Dunningham Park with hands-on training, beach safety knowledge talks, and a little bit of community connection. The day is open to every member of the general public and features two powerful sessions delivered by highly trained and experienced lifesavers.

9:00 AM – Resuscitation Classes

At 9 o’clock, learn lifesaving skills that you can use anywhere. The resuscitation techniques taught by our expert instructors will help empower everyday people to act confidently at home, at work, in public, or anywhere an emergency can occur.

“A Safe Day at the Beach” – Comprehensive Beach Safety Presentation

After the resuscitation workshop, stick around for an engaging and practical presentation that covers every aspect of beach safety, including:

  • How to identify a rip
  • The importance of swimming between the red and yellow flags
  • Sun protection essentials
  • What to do if you're unsure – just ask a lifesaver

The Centenary Celebration Spectacular

The real action happens on Sunday when the major moments of the Centenary take place. Come celebrate the heritage, pride, pageantry, and excitement on a scale that no club has ever seen before.

The Grand Parade of Members

10:00 AM – Meet at Monro Park

At 10 AM, we will gather at Monro Park, across from Cronulla Railway Station, where all club members will prepare for a historic march.

Dress Code:

  • Active lifesavers: Patrol uniform
  • All other members: 100-Year Celebration apparel and cap
  • No 100-year gear? Blue & Gold apparel is welcome
  • Peaked caps will be available for purchase at the park

10:30 AM – Parade Commencement

The parade will begin at 10:30 sharp with the sounds of a Scottish pipe band as we make our way through the park, along the promenade, and out to North Cronulla Beach. There will be council supervisors to ensure crowd control as hundreds of members march together in unity toward this historic, once-in-a-century event.

11:00 AM – The “100” Formation Club Photo

Once the parade reaches the beach, all participants will assemble on the sand in the shape of a giant 100. This dramatic formation commemorates the day as a drone captures everything from above.

11:30 AM – Lifesaving Super Display

Prepare for a lifesaving super display as the club’s history comes alive. Skilled teams will perform dynamic showcases of rescue methods that have spanned the club’s century of service, including:

  • Reel, Line & Belt rescue
  • Rescue boards
  • IRBs
  • Jet skis
  • Power boat
  • Helicopter involvement

12:30 PM – Official Marquee Celebration

Once all the beachside attractions are complete, members and guests are invited into the marquee for the official formalities of the Centenary.

VIP Guests Include:

  • Hon Scott Morrison, Former Prime Minister of Australia
  • Hon Simon Kennedy, Federal Member for Cook
